Streaming video trials from the Ritz

The DCC Library is trying out a couple of video streaming services put out by Alexander Street Press, a major academic multimedia producer. The trial products are:

• American History in Video Containing more than 2,000 hours of streaming video, this service offers footage from as far back as the 1890's. It contains newsreels, documentaries & dramatic recreations that cover all aspects of the American experience. Producers of programs include PBS, the History Channel & CBS.
• Filmmakers Online Contains more than 1,000 documentaries that present points of view and historical and current experiences from diverse cultures and traditions worldwide.Among the topics covered are race and gender studies, human rights, globalization, the environment, and the arts
