Adding images from the Web to a Powerpoint presentation is as easy as cut 'n' paste. Incorporating video is different story. The best way to add media is to use the "Movie" option on Powerpoint's Insert menu, but you need to have downloaded the video in a movie file format like .wmd or .avi for it to work right.
That's not an option if you want to use a YouTube video. Of course, you can always put a link to the YouTube URL on a slide. It means extra loading time, though, as your computer brings up the browser and the playback can look awfully messy. Here's a better way.
Download the Powerpoint add-in, "YouTube Video Wizard". Install the add-in and a new tab under "Insert" called "YouTube Video"will appear on Powerpoint. Click on it, and a series of screens will take you through the process of inserting a YouTube Video into your presentation. Interested? the add-in is available to download at YouTube Video Wizard

Thanks for your wonderful skill sharing .I gain a lot. I download the add-in, it’s really useful. It’s helpful for my Powerpoint presentation preparation, and I hope I am commended for my presentation of the project tomorrow .
I read another valuable article just now and also benefited from it. I want to share it with you as you are so generous and kind
“Embed the YouTube video into PowerPoint
First, download the YouTube video onto your computer with a Free tool, and then insert it to your PowerPoint.
For PowerPoint 2007:
1. Click Insert and Movie and then browse your target folder to import the downloaded video.
2. Click Movie from File
3. Now choose the video which you want to emb into your PowerPoint
4. Notice: The movie files that can be embeded into PowerPoint must be asf, avi, mpeg, or wmv. So make sure you have taken the right video format during the first step.
For PowerPoint2003:
1. On the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds, and then click Movie from File.
2. Click the video you want to use and then click OK.
3. After you click OK, you're prompted with a message asking how you want the movie to start in the slide show. Recommend choosing Automatically even if you want the movie to play when clicked – I'll talk about how to set this part too. (If you choose When Clicked, you have to click the black box to start the movie. Because I don’t like to show the black box on the slide, I do this a little differently.)
4. Right-click the movie object (the small rectangle) and on the shortcut menu, click Edit Movie Object.
5. The Movie Options dialog box appears. select what you want, and then click OK. Test this now to see how it works by starting the slide show. (On the Slide Show menu, click View Show.) Advance to the slide with the movie, (best if you have the title of the movie on it). Within a couple of seconds, the movie starts to play full screen. When the movie finishes, you return to the same slide (but no unsightly box appears). Click to advance to your next slide.”
