Planning a vacation? Drive long distances each day? Enjoy reading but your eyes bother you? Have down time that you want to enjoy a book in? Feel like multi-tasking? For whatever reason, you may be interested in Playaways, portable audio devices that are simple to use. The Ritz Library has recently acquired 25 new Playaways, covering popular titles like Smokin' Seventeen by Janet Evanovich to classics such as William Shakespeare's Henry V and King Lear to comedic titles such as Tina Fey's Bossypants. Each playaway is about the size of a small cell phone, is easily slipped into a pocket and may be played using a headset or with an audio cable attachment for your car or other speaker system. The purpose of the Ritz Library blog is to promote information literacy and library communication at Dutchess Community College (DCC). It is used to convey information about library events, library tools (e.g. researching databases), library issues in the news, and relevant DCC information that pertains to the library.
